Joshua T. Crain

Joshua T. Crain is the founder of Crain Defense Solutions and brings a rare combination of legal experience, instructional background, and real-world perspective to every training environment.

Joshua has been a licensed attorney in Tennessee since 2005 and is admitted to practice in all Tennessee state courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. He began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney General, where he gained extensive courtroom and trial experience before transitioning into private practice.

This legal background informs every aspect of his approach to training — with a strong emphasis on lawful decision-making, responsibility, and understanding the real-world consequences of actions taken under stress.

In addition to his legal career, Joshua is a certified firearms and defensive training instructor, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt out of Fight Zone, Murfreesboro, with a strong focus on responsible preparedness. His experience includes instruction in firearms, defensive tactics, and emergency response, with an emphasis on practical application rather than theory alone.

Joshua’s training philosophy centers on helping students become assets rather than liabilities — capable, informed, and prepared to respond appropriately in high-stress situations.
